“The doctor of the future will give no medication, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
— Thomas A. Edison
Chiropractic is from the Greek words meaning “done by hand.”
It is grounded in the principle that the body can heal itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system is functioning properly. According to Gray’s Anatomy, the nervous system is the master system of the body and controls and coordinates all other systems such as respiratory, digestive, muscular, immune, circulatory, and reproductive. The focus of chiropractic is to restore normal nervous system function by correcting functional misalignments of the vertebral column. While chiropractic care plays an important role in Dr. Brown’s practice, his approach is unique in that he tailors the care to the individual need of the patient at the given point in time and always addresses the underlying issue causing the misalignment. Because Dr. Brown’s main concern is the overall long-term health of his patients, he does not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all philosophy.
